Air filter, Oil filter and spark plugs

Maintaining your vehicle is cheaper than replacing it.
Preventive maintenance not only extends the life of your vehicle, but it can also save you money by reducing costly repairs later. Ask us about our maintenance plans.

Manufacturers require scheduled maintenance to fulfill warranty requirements and it doesn't need to be performed by a dealer. Even if your vehicle is no longer covered by a warranty, you will have peace of mind that the vehicle you, or a loved one, are driving is in safe operating condition.

Preventive Maintenance Service

Our ASE certified technicians begin with a multi-point, bumper-to-bumper and under the hood inspection. We will provide a written report on your vehicle's condition before performing any service. Preventive Maintenance Services include:

  • Check belts and hoses
  • Check fluid levels and condition
  • Check steering and suspension for safety

Lakewood Tire & Service has the batteries you need to keep your vehicle running in all weather conditions. If you are experiencing difficulty starting your vehicle, stop by for a free battery test of the following:

  • Charge level
  • Visual inspection of battery condition
  • Terminal/post cleaning

Brakes are an essential part of your vehicle. It is important to maintain them so that they continue to do what they were designed to — keep you and others safe by stopping your vehicle.

Our comprehensive brake service includes the following:

  • Brake inspection
  • Pads and Shoe Replacement
  • Resurface or Replace Rotors or Drums
  • Bleed and Fill Hydraulic System
Oil Change

Oil changes are a vital part of routine preventive maintenance that is necessary for engine longevity. Over time, the oil in your vehicle becomes contaminated with soot, gasoline and other impurities. Eventually, enough impurities build up that the filter cannot remove them all and the resulting sludge can shorten engine life.

Most manufacturers recommend changing your oil every 5,000 - 7,000 miles under "normal" driving conditions. Today's "severe" stop-and-go traffic puts more demand on your engine and may be require more frequent oil and filter changes — every 3 months or 3,000 miles.

  • Change the oil with up to five quarts of quality (name brand) motor oil
  • Replace the oil filter
Mufflers & Exhaust

A vehicle's exhaust system is designed to muffle noise, lower the temperature of the exhaust and reduce harmful emissions that enter the atmosphere. Whether you need a simple muffler clamp or are interested in a high performance exhaust system, our experienced technicians are here to help.

Emission Testing

Washington State requires vehicles to meet state emission standards and requires testing every other year. Our technicians can perform emissions diagnostics to ensure you pass your inspection.

Steering, Suspension & Alignment

If you are experiencing a rough ride, difficulty steering, or excessive tipping while cornering, your vehicle should be inspected. We offer a wide selection of steering and alignment services to best fit your needs.

  • Ball Joints
  • Bushings
  • Sway Bar Links
  • Center Links
  • Idler Arms/Pitman Arms
  • Rack and Pinion Units

Suspension systems serve a dual purpose — contributing to the car's handling and braking while keeping the vehicle's occupants comfortable and isolated from bumps and vibrations.

Wheel alignment adjusts the angles of the wheels so that they are positioned correctly relative to the vehicle's frame. This adjustment maximizes the life of your tires and prevents your car from veering to the right or left when driving on a straight, level road.

Tire Balance & Rotation

Unbalanced tires can cause vibration or shaking of the vehicle when driving. Balance is achieved by positioning weights on the wheel to counterbalance heavy spots on the wheel-and-tire assembly.

Tire Rotation
Rotating tires from front to back and from side to side can reduce irregular wear (for vehicles that have tires that are all the same size). Look in your owner's manual for information on how frequently the tires on your vehicle should be rotated and the best pattern for rotation.

Engine Cooling

Most vehicle manufacturers recommend replacement of the anti-freeze at scheduled intervals. Our technicians can perform a detailed inspection of your vehicle's cooling systems to determine what work is needed.

In addition to a complete radiator flushing, we offer the following services:

  • Inspect system and pressure test for leaks
  • Add flush chemicals to the radiator
  • Power flush chemicals to the radiator
  • Refill system with proper amount of anti-freeze
  • Add sealant/lubricant to the system
